30th Anniversary Conference, "People and the Planet"

Thu, 2007-11-01 - Sun, 2007-11-04

The 30th anniversary conference featured roundtable discussions and a poster session, two new, member-driven components. At our roundtable discussions, students and scholars, teachers and friends came together to discuss 38 topics ranging from “…Media Images of the East and West” to “Ecological Terrorism.” Some roundtable discussions ended at the sound of the closing bell. Others continued throughout the coffee break and into the next day. A few are still going on through e-mail.

The poster session was also a hit with members. It featured 24 posters on topics as diverse as ecology, journalism, education, and community building. Presenters told us they appreciated the opportunity to highlight their research and current work. Other conference goers said they enjoyed the chance to learn about a variety of topics and network with other Fulbrighters in a relaxed, minimally-structured atmosphere.
