OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO THE VICTIMS OF THE NEPAL EARTHQUAKE
Over 3,300 people have been killed with 6,800 more reported injured in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which struck Nepal on April 25, 2015. More than 6 million people live within 60 miles of the epicenter, located 50 miles northwest of the capital Katmandu, which populates 2.5 million residents alone. This major category earthquake has collapsed buildings, heavily damaged and destroyed infrastructure and electricity and phone connectivity is intermittent – with 20 subsequent aftershocks causing further devastation across the region.

Know a Fulbrighter in Nepal?
You’re urged to contact the US Educational Foundation in Nepal by calling +977 1 4444779, 4444780 or by email.

Our Hearts Go Out to the Victims of Nepal
There are a number of relief organizations stepping in to provide emergency humanitarian help to the 8 million people impacted.

Support Nepal, Donate Today!
Consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the American Red Cross to support on-the-ground relief in Nepal or IIE’s Nepal Emergency Student Fund to help the 8,000 Nepali students studying in the US who may have lost family back home.

In this time of need, we must come together as a global community and support those who need our help.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

Warm Regards,
Jennifer Gennaro Oxley

A Quote From Senator Fulbright

The Fulbright Program aims to bring a little more knowledge, a little more reason, and a little more compassion into world affairs and thereby to increase the chance that nations will learn at last to live in peace and friendship. - J. William Fulbright
