The Fulbright Association 31^st Annual Conference—“2008:  The Interconnected World”—will take place in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, from October 20 through October 22, 2008.   To help us plan this landmark conference, we ask you to take a moment to complete our Conference Interest Survey.

The conference has strong roots in the Fulbright tradition.  In November 1947, the first executive agreement under the Fulbright Program was concluded with China.  During the 1948-49 academic year, Derk Bodde became the first U.S. scholar to receive a Fulbright award and served in Beijing as a Fulbright research fellow.

Now, Fulbright Program alumni in China are coming together through the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) to create the first Chinese Fulbright alumni organization.  Fulbright alumnus Zong Wa is our liaison at CEAIE, our Chinese host organization.  He and fellow Chinese Fulbright alumni will welcome Fulbright alumni from around the world to this global conference dedicated to increasing international understanding through educational exchange.
