Education for the New Age: Tradition, Reform, Innovation

The 9th Fulbright conference will be held in Bansko on August 6-8, 2010. It is organized and sponsored by the Bulgarian-American Commission for Educational Exchange and Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. The theme of the conference “Education for the New Age: Tradition, Reform, Innovation” consists of key words that sum up the problems, objectives and requirements defining the changed philosophy and functions of education in the 21st century. The main purpose of the conference has four aspects:

• To keep alive the tradition created by the Bulgarian Fulbright Commission in 1994 to hold biennial conferences on significant themes.
• To draw attention of the wider public to the achievements and potential of the Fulbright program in Bulgaria and worldwide.
• To make a contribution to the ongoing educational reform through an exchange of international experience, expertise, ideas, goals, best practices etc.
• To enhance the role of the Fulbright International Summer Institute as a unique
• educational and cultural program where the interaction of tradition, reform and innovation can create a high quality intellectual product.
