Welcome to the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Fulbright Association. Formed in 1996, our chapter currently has about 60 members, a number we are working to increase. The chapter exists to further the aims of the Fulbright Association: to support visiting Fulbrighters and make their stay fulfilling, to promote communication among returned participants in Fulbright programs, to publicize and encourage applications for these programs, and to advocate for continued, and hopefully increased, funding by Congress of the Fulbright exchange program.

The Fulbright Association is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and chapters are tax exempt under a group tax exemption ruling. The Association is incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia. Chapters apply for and receive charters, approve Bylaws, and enter into Affiliation Agreements to maintain their affiliation with the national organization and to receive services and benefits from the national office.
We know that as a volunteer it can be difficult to navigate the paperwork required to maintain your chapter’s affiliation with the Fulbright Association. Please find below all of the necessary forms to be completed at various points through the year.
