Welcome to the Northern New York Chapter page! If you currently live within our chapter area and are not receiving event invitations, please take a moment to join the Fulbright Association here.

When those from other parts of the country hear the word “New York” in our chapter name, they immediately assume we’re located in a densely populated area such as New York City. In fact, we’re located nearly eight hours NORTH (and west) of New York City. Our closest urban areas are Ottawa and Montreal, Canada. Frankly, we have more cows than people in our St. Lawrence County, the largest county east of the Mississippi. Our geographical area, known officially as “The North Country,” is graced on one side with the rivers and mountains of the Adirondack Park (the largest park, state or national, in the lower forty-eight) and on the other with the mighty St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands.
