The Fulbright Program was launched in 1946 with a mission to promote understanding of different cultures through international educational and cultural exchange programs. Since its inception, over 100,000 Americans have been given the opportunity to study, teach, and conduct research abroad, while approximately 150,000 scholars and students from countries throughout the world have studied in the United States to increase their understanding of our country and to share their culture and perspective with Americans. From these exchanges a foundation of goodwill and knowledge is fortified.

The Fulbright Association is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and chapters are tax exempt under a group tax exemption ruling. The Association is incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia. Chapters apply for and receive charters, approve Bylaws, and enter into Affiliation Agreements to maintain their affiliation with the national organization and to receive services and benefits from the national office.
We know that as a volunteer it can be difficult to navigate the paperwork required to maintain your chapter’s affiliation with the Fulbright Association. Please find below all of the necessary forms to be completed at various points through the year.
