U.S. Department of Education - Office of Postsecondary Education
 
The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education administers the overseas International Education and Foreign Language Studies program authorized by section 102 (b) (6) of the Fulbright-Hays Act. The program differs from other Fulbright-Hays activities in that its objectives are research and training with no provision for lecturing assignments overseas and no direct exchanges. Fulbright Commissions
 
There are 50 Fulbright Commissions around the world that participate in administering the Fulbright Program abroad. Commissions plan and implement educational exchanges that best promote the Fulbright Program’s objectives in a bilateral context. State Alumni Network
 
State Alumni is a network for all past and current participants of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs. The State Alumni web site (www.alumni.state.gov) enables current and former participants in exchange programs funded by the U.S. government to search for job and grant opportunities, to post résumés or academic articles,and to prepare research through State Alumni’s Online Resource Center, with access to more than 20,000 U.S. and international periodicals, newspapers, and other resources.

Council for the International Exchange of Scholars (CIES)
 
For more than 60 years, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) has helped administer the Fulbright Scholar Program, the U.S. government's flagship academic exchange effort, on behalf of the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Founded in 1947, CIES is a private organization. It is a division of the Institute of International Education (IIE).
