2005 Fulbright Lifetime Achievement Medal Recipient
Well known as an international lawyer, Dr. Hauser is President of the
Hauser Foundation in New York City. She served on the President’s
Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board and Intelligence Oversight Board
from 2001 to 2004. Dr. Hauser chairs the International Peace Academy, a
research body affiliated with the United Nations, and was the founding
chair of the Advisory Board of the RAND Center for Middle East Public
Policy. She serves as a director of the International Institute for
Strategic Studies in London, the RAND Corporation, and the Lincoln
Center for the Performing Arts, among other organizations. She sits on
the Visiting Committee of the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard
University and is vice-chairman of the Dean’s Advisory Board of Harvard
Law School. She serves as co-chair of Harvard University’s endowment
campaign. In 1997, she and her husband founded the Hauser Center for
Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard University, and she is chair of its
Advisory Board. A Fulbright fellow to France in 1954-1955, Dr. Hauser
holds advanced degrees from the University of Strasbourg in France, from
Harvard and New York University Law Schools, and from the University of
Paris Law Faculty.
